The City Workshops are thematic activities that bring together researchers, designers and the general public. In last edition, ‘The Materials Farm’, we discovered different experiences in the development of new materials from agriculture, food and biological processes alongside a number of local and international designers and researchers.
When combining advanced materials with design the door to future products and solutions opens. However, there are still some barriers obstructing the full development of such potential. Materfad’s «Sketcha Kucha» Sessions are built up having inspiring talks, four chosen advanced materials to work with in a workshop session and plenty of room for the participants to meet, share knowledge, engage and network.
Trying to narrow down the gap between science, design and product development and to provide all parts with the appropriate experience on how to take advantage of the huge opportunities regarding these advanced materials in products and services, this event brings together designers, experts and suppliers that turned out to be a unique inteactive platform for stakeholders to explore new applications for advanced materials.
A more academic activity, addressed to advanced students or young professionals : the state of the art in the sector of advanced materials and technologies with a review of the current tendencies and direct contacts with experts of some selected related entities. Attendance certificates can be delivered.
Mater Pills covers a wide range of training formats, organised according to the thematic issues requested by the professionals involved : what are the most recent and potentially explotable materials? What are the current tendencies in the advanced materials and technology sectors? What does the future look like in the technological field ? And finally, how can I use this specific knowledge to generate my own future projects?
When a creative team, from any sector, needs to hold a private seminar, brain storming or simply an intensive meeting in an inspiring multidisciplinary space, Materfad offers its input and guidance and is pleased to welcome such innovation-oriented sessions.
Special events involving the active participation of experts in lectures, presentations of products, success stories, etc… in collaboration with firms or institutions. The presentations are dynamic and non commercial and the session is associated with a light brunch allowing a networking space for the participants.
MaterLab is a format designed to gather a group of experts in advanced materials and technology and listen to their vision and experience of a determined innovative approach. It’s a meeting space for any prospective technological thinking in progress.
